Research has shown that positive awareness raising of cycle safety with children can help reduce the amount of minor, serious and fatal injuries that occur. As the summer holidays are fast approaching it’s a great time to get out on our bikes but everyone should be aware just how important cycle safety is.
For this Cycle Safety initiative, we are asking TORC residents to submit their ideas on the topic of safe cycling and specifically how their housing scheme can become safer for cyclists. We will be looking for practical and innovative ideas that would help bike owners and cyclists of all ages on your scheme. This could involve:
All entries need to be on 1 A4 sized page. It can be a poster, an essay or a mix of writing and images.

Photos taken of entries and sent in will not be accepted, please use a scanning tool – many phones have this function. Contact TEO Bethany if you need help to do this.

There are two categories for entries:
The prize for the first category of children aged 15 and under is €300 credit to buy a bike and/or bike accessories at Halfords
The prize for the second category of young people aged 16-25 years is a Carrera Crosscity Folding Electric Bike worth €1,195.00!
