Annual Housing Inspection Survey Feedback
As we always say…TORC loves to hear your feedback! It’s such an important way for us to understand what we are doing right and what we can improve on, to provide our residents the best possible service. Thank you to all of the residents from the Waterford and Macroom schemes who took the time to complete the Housing Inspection Survey we recently sent out via text. We are pleased to see that everyone reported to have understood the inspection process, that our inspectors arrived on time and provided the opportunity for residents to talk about any housing issues. See all the results here.
Residents from Clonakilty, Skibbereen and Clane will be provided this opportunity after their inspections next month. If you are from one of our Galway, Shannon or Roscommon schemes and would like to provide feedback on your experience, you can do so by filling out the quick survey on our website here: https://bit.ly/torcfeedback

1/ TORC Foundation Educational Support
|
Last September, TORC ran a back-to-school initiative for our residents that had moved in at that time. We are running this back-to-school initiative once more as many of our residents moved into their new homes only this year. It is also to recognize the challenging year our residents have faced coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic and facing increasing inflation and the cost-of-living crisis in the country.
The TORC Foundation is providing a Dunnes Stores gift card to 584 eligible children to help families with the cost of sending their children back to school. There is no need to apply for this initiative, all residents are eligible for this contribution if they have children aged between 4-18 years of age (Terms and Conditions apply). Please contact Bethany on getinvolved@torcsustainablehousing.ie if you have any queries about this.

2/ Annual Resident Satisfaction Survey
|
Our annual resident satisfaction phone and email survey will commence this month, conducted with residents chosen at random across all TORC schemes. You may receive a call to take part in a short survey from a company called Acuity who are conducting a Resident Satisfaction Survey on behalf of TORC.
The survey is one measure of resident satisfaction and delivery of our tenancy services. We believe that this is an important aspect of tenant engagement and informs us of what we do well and what we need to change and improve upon. We would really appreciate your time in taking part in the survey and we welcome all resident’s feedback. Residents who partake in the survey will be entered into a draw to be in with a chance to win a prize. We have three One for All vouchers to be won, one voucher worth €100 and two x €50 vouchers.

3/ Energy Saving and budgeting online workshops
|
With the constant news of inflation, the cost-of-living crisis and energy prices soaring, you have probably started to consider whether there is anything you can do to withstand the impact of these issues. TORC has partnered with Bonkers.ie and MABS the Money and Budgeting Service to offer residents two workshops on energy and money saving. These will be very practical, and you are sure to go away with some concrete changes you can make.
Energy Saving Tips – Wednesday September 21st from 6.30pm – 7.15pm
Budgeting and How to Save Money – Thursday 6th October from 6.30pm – 715pm
Register here to for either (or both) of these workshops

4/ ‘You Said, We Listened’ – Roscommon
|
Following on from the recent Stinky/Tasty Fish Feedback card initiative and the creative children’s workshop as part of a public consultation process. TORC Tenant Engagement is hosting a final engagement and feedback event – a community meeting on:
Saturday 17th September 11am – 12pm
On site (we have a marquee)
There will be tea/coffee/pastries available from 10.30am. We will be letting residents know about all the feedback that came back from residents and TORC’s action plan moving forward. So if you want to hear what your neighbours have been thinking and feeling and what improvements for the scheme that TORC has lined up, come along!

5/ Community Signs Initiative – Clane & Macroom
|
Through consultation with the Pairc Ui Mhuirithe and Cluain Ailbhe Resident Groups, TORC is launching an initiative to help tackle anti-social issues on site such as littering, dog fouling and speeding. The aim is to try and shine a light on these issues and the destructive impact they have on communities. This in turn will hopefully change people’s behaviours for the better and schemes will be safer and cleaner.
TORC is asking young residents to design their own community signs. We will then select 10 sign designs from each area, print them on Plastic board and install them around the schemes. Selected designs will receive a One4All voucher as well. TORC will provide all materials needed in the ‘Poster Pack’, including a stamped return envelope. This initiative open to TORC residents aged 4-18 living in Macroom or Clane.
Register for ‘Poster Packs’ for your children here

6/ TORC Top Tips for Tenants
|
Remember that if you want a partner or another person to move into your home, you will first need to get written permission. This month’s top tip goes through the stages of making the request. It is ultimately your Local Authority that makes the decision, but your TORC HSCO will assist you in gathering the information.
* Please note that adding a new born child to your household is a different process. In this case, please contact your HSCO to notify them of the birth, for TORC to keep your household details up to date.
